Departments

  1. Assessing

    The Equalization Director for Oakland County is contracted by the City to act as the Assessor for the City of Bloomfield Hills.

  2. Building

    The Department of Building Safety is responsible for the "firm but fair" implementation and enforcement of City and State codes relating to the construction, remodeling, alteration, repair and demolition of buildings and structures located within the City.

  3. City Clerk

    The City Clerk is the custodian of the official records of the City, maintaining files that include ordinances, resolutions, contracts, agreements and affidavits.

  4. Code Enforcement

    The city of Bloomfield Hills employs one part-time ordinance officer. The purpose of this position is to let owners and occupants know of any issues that may violate city ordinance and when necessary initiate enforcement action.

  5. Engineering

    The consulting firm of Hubbell, Roth and Clark (HRC) has been providing civil and municipal engineering services to the City of Bloomfield Hills for close to 50 years.

  6. Finance

    The Finance department is responsible for accounting and reporting of the City's financial activity.

  7. Planning

    Although the City of Bloomfield Hills does not have an in-house Planning and Zoning Department, it is still well provided for through its contract with the consulting firm of LSL Planning, Incorporated.

  8. Public Safety

    The City of Bloomfield Hills is committed to providing the highest level of public safety service.

  9. Public Works

    The Department of Public Works is responsible for several City services. The Department is also responsible for the maintenance and snowplowing of all City-owned roads, maintenance of City-owned property and City vehicles.

  10. Treasury

    The Treasury department is responsible for the billing, collection and maintenance of the City's tax roll.
